The fight against corruption is a factor in sustainable development

Corruption remains one of the main threats to the development of society. It is considered one of the vices that negatively influences the development and progress of the state and society. Today, in almost every country in the world one can encounter the problem of corruption and its consequences. Indeed, preventing corruption at an early stage is a more important issue than dealing with the consequences. 

On March 25, 2025, a round table on the topic “Fighting corruption – a factor in sustainable development” was organized at the SEMS of Kashkadarya region. Absalomov Sharofiddin Ergashovich, chief legal adviser of the legal services center of the justice department of the city of Karshi, was invited to the event. During the event, the speaker first spoke about how corruption is one of the reasons that negatively influences the development of the state and society, the negative impact of corruption on public administration, and the damage it causes to the economic and social sphere. Detailed information was provided on the legal framework for combating corruption, international experience and reforms being implemented in our country.

Following the event, the participants exchanged views, recognizing the importance of cooperation between all citizens and organizations in the fight against corruption. In addition to legal reforms aimed at preventing corruption and its complete elimination, legal literacy of every citizen is also very important.
