December 10 holds a remarkable place in the history of independent Uzbekistan. On this day in 1992, the National Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan was officially adopted. Since then, it has become one of the key symbols of independence, statehood and national pride.
The National Anthem is far more than a musical composition — it expresses the spirit of the nation, its dignity, identity and aspirations for a prosperous future. The lyrics were written by the People’s Poet of Uzbekistan Abdulla Oripov, and the music was composed by the distinguished musician Mutal Burhonov. Their combined creativity has gifted the nation with a timeless symbol that resonates in the heart of every citizen.
When the anthem plays, it ignites feelings of patriotism, unity, pride and responsibility.
These emotions become even stronger when Uzbekistan is represented internationally — at sports championships, cultural events or diplomatic ceremonies — and the anthem is performed in honor of national achievements.
Today, the anthem plays an essential role in the education and upbringing of the younger generation. Its regular ceremonial use in schools, universities and official events strengthens the sense of respect for national symbols, fosters patriotism and encourages dedication to the country’s development.
We congratulate all citizens of Uzbekistan on this meaningful occasion! May peace, progress and prosperity flourish across our homeland, and may our anthem always inspire unity, pride and national spirit.
Happy National Anthem Day!
